Understanding Natural Materials, Composites and Structures

One of the great challenges in ecocomposite development is the complexity of nature. Many of the most useful raw materials are anisotropic structures rather than isotropic materials. This makes processing critical to protect the maximum value of the desired structures. Such things as slicing instead of crushing straw or stems to remove fibers can maximize fiber value.
